Open the boot before you add airflow.

Boot height, lining, membrane and footbed all affect the routine. A tall shaft is not proof that heated drying is appropriate.

Direct answer

Remove loose dirt, open the shaft and check the lining first. If the exact boot permits heated drying, position the documented outlet without blocking airflow and inspect progress.

When this applies.

This guide applies to damp work boots after ordinary wear. Waterproof membranes, insulated linings, safety components, leather treatments and removable footbeds may have separate care requirements.

Follow employer safety rules and the boot manufacturer's instructions where they are more specific.

Work through the pair, not around it.

    Brush or wipe before drying.

Remove loose dirt using the method allowed for the upper and protective treatment. Drain free water away from the powered setup.

  2. Care step illustration; check the exact product and footwear instructions.

Open every layer you can inspect.

Release laces or fasteners. Check the shaft lining, tongue and removable footbed for separate heat restrictions.

  3. Care step illustration; check the exact product and footwear instructions.

Keep a clear route through the boot.

Do not seal the shaft around the outlet or bend a duct beyond its instructed range. Keep the intake uncovered.

  4. Care step illustration; check the exact product and footwear instructions.

Check the lining, then cool the unit.

Inspect progress before continuing a session. Switch off, unplug and allow the dryer to cool before cleaning or storage.

Common mistakes to avoid.

Assuming waterproof means heat-safe

A membrane or treatment may have its own temperature and drying-method limits.

Stuffing the outlet into a tight shaft

Forcing placement can restrict airflow and depart from the documented setup.

Ignoring the footbed

A removable or custom footbed can require a different method from the boot shell.

Promising overnight readiness

Moisture, construction and conditions vary; inspect the boot rather than relying on a slogan or fixed duration.

Where Ultra Grey fits.

The current Ultra source material documents two extendable ducts and a 1–9-hour timer. It is the current purchase-oriented starting point for an open-boot setup when the boot itself permits heated drying.

Lang is also documented for taller footwear, but remains information-only until launch, price and regional electrical details are approved.
